SWFC V Manchester United - 21/04/91 Available for the first time on DVD - the full 90 minutes of that memorable day at Wembley as Wednesday lifted the League Cup. Manchester United were hot favourites going into the final but Ron Atkinson's Owls swept them aside with an accomplished performance, ensuring that the Hillsborough trophy room would be decorated with silverware for the first time in 56 years. John Sheridan's fine half-volley on 37 minutes won it for Wednesday, giving the Barmy Army reward for their fantastic backing as they outsung the Red Devils fans and turned the capital blue and white.

SWFC V Hartlepool United - 29/05/05 Wednesday booked their return to the Championship after sweeping Hartlepool United's challenge aside. The Owls conjured up the necessary magic in extra time to gain promotion, as Drew Talbot's last minute strike clinched victory after Glenn Whelan (94) had put SWFC ahead for the second time. Jon-Paul McGovern first handed Wednesday the advantage on 45 minutes but goals from Williams (47) and Boyd (71) had the Owls in trouble until Steven MacLean marked a surprise return by scoring from the spot after Pools' Westwood was dismissed (82).

SWFC V Brentford - 12-16/05/05 The Owls clinched their place in the Cardiff play-off final after cementing victory over Brentford. Jon-Paul McGovern was the man who gave the Owls edge in the Hillsborough leg, crashing home a low shot from James Quinn's intelligent lay-off on 11 minutes. Lee Peacock expertly headed in a pinpoint Paul Heckingbottom free-kick after 27 minutes at Griffin Park, shortly after David Lucas' superb save denied Deon Burton. Chris Brunt put the tie beyond the Bees in the 52nd minute with a deflected free-kick, although Bees Andrew Frampton netted three minutes from time.

2005-06 Season DVDs
SWFC V Leeds United - 13/09/05 Wednesday collected their first league victory of the season after overcoming Yorkshire rivals Leeds United at a buzzing Hillsborough. Chris Eagles' first goal in Owls colours sealed the points, as the winger curled home a ninth minute free-kick which proved the winner. Paul Sturrock's side could have added to their advantage but Neil Sullivan made a fantastic save to deny David Graham and also thwarted Lee Peacock. Chris Brunt rattled the visitors' crossbar with a second-half screamer and Wednesday held firm in the face of late Leeds pressure to emerge victorious.

SWFC V Coventry - 01/10/05 The Owls held their nerve to run out winners from a five-goal thriller against Coventry City with Chris Brunt grabbing a brace. Graham Coughlan headed home a Brunt corner for the third successive home game on 16 minutes before the Sky Blues hit back through Gary McSheffrey's 33rd minute penalty. Brunt netted a stunner on 44 minutes, lashing in a dipping volley from almost 40 yards and the Ulsterman sealed victory from the penalty spot 12 minutes from time, after Andy Morrell had pulled City level on 73 minutes.

Norwich City V SWFC - 29/10/05 Chris Brunt continued his hot form in front of goal to earn Wednesday all three points at Carrow Road. The winger struck the winner with 11 minutes remaining, slamming home off the post after Richie Partridge's shot was blocked to claim his fourth goal in five matches. Debutant loanee Gaby Agbonlahor hit the Norwich post early on before Brunt sealed a victory that was reward for a hard-working Owls display.

SWFC V Derby County - 05/11/05 Wednesday overcame a poor first-half display to claim three valuable Championship points with a rousing late fightback against Derby County. It was a baptism of fire for on-loan goalkeeper Nicky Weaver, who was called upon several times in the opening stages but could not prevent Marcus Tudgay from heading the Rams in front. After a 'wee word' from Paul Sturrock, the Owls were a different side after the break and Chris Brunt equalised before substitute David Graham struck the winner.

Burnley V SWFC - 31/12/05 Wednesday rounded off 2005 by collecting a vital win over the Pennines at Burnley with Chris Eagles and Graham Coughlan earning victory. Eagles gave the Owls the lead on just five minutes, turning in John Hills' low cross at the back post on his final SWFC outing. Coughlan headed what proved to be the winner 11 minutes into the second half from Chris Brunt's corner and Wednesday held out despite Garreth O'Connor's 84th minute penalty halving their lead.

SWFC V Crewe - 02/01/06 Wednesday made a winning start to 2006 by registering a convincing New Year victory over Crewe Alexandra. Richard Wood got the ball rolling in only the sixth minute with a powerful near-post header from Richie Partridge's corner. Marcus Tudgay enjoyed a fine start to his Owls career by heading a debut goal in the 62nd minute from Deon Burton's flick and the win was sealed as Chris Brunt's shot was deflected in off Alex defender Chris McCready's head nine minutes from time.

SWFC V Leicester City - 14/01/06 Wednesday collected a third successive league victory after coming from behind to beat Leicester City. Chris Brunt and Graham Coughlan were among the goals once more, cancelling out Richard Stearman's seventh minute overhead strike for the Foxes. Brunt lashed a stunning 30 yard shot into the keeper's right-hand corner on 31 minutes and Coughlan sealed the points with a towering header from John Hills' cross five minutes before the break.
