Brian Laws says the hard-fought draw stored at Barnsley on Saturday could prove a turning point for the Owls as the business end of the season approaches.

Wednesday enjoyed the lion's share of possession on a blustery afternoon at Oakwell and Laws was pleased with the application of his players.

He said: "We might look back on this game as a turning point towards the end of the season.

"That was a very good point, make no mistake about that. We stuck to our task and made it very difficult for Barnsley to play, particularly Brian Howard.

"We know that Howard can control a game if you give him the chance but we stifled him well, I thought Adam Bolder did a great job in midfield."

Laws also drew the positives from a third clean sheet on the bounce and said the windy conditions made it almost impossible to play cohesive football.

"That's three clean sheets on the spin now and that's a great platform to build from at this stage of the season. It's also a confidence booster for the players.

"I said to them, 'just stick to your tasks' because you just couldn't play the ball as you wanted to in those conditions. The players had no idea where the ball was going to land, it was that bad out there."
