The Kop has evolved to be a huge structure that houses the loudest and most partisan section of Wednesday supporters. In 2007, the club agreed a sponsorship deal with local company ASD Lighting, giving them naming rights to the stand.

By the time of the addition of a roof in 1986, the Kop was the largest covered standing area in Europe, with a capacity of 22,000. The roof was partly funded by contributions from Wednesday supporters, who participated in a fun run, among other events.

Now fully-seated, it holds just over half that 1986 figure, but remains a fearsome proposition for any opposing player. Many famous Owls victories have been secured with the team bearing down on a baying Kop goal in the second-half.
