Media Review - Tuesday
Owls midfielder Kenny Lunt has rejected a loan move to Walsall, according to the Sheffield Star.
Lunt is down the pecking order at Hillsborough and Paul Thompson writes:
"Owls midfield man Kenny Lunt has turned down a deadline-week move to Walsall.
"The Midlands outfit wanted him on loan - with the pre-January deadline for loan deals coming up on Thursday.
"Sydney FC were also interested in the former Crewe star.
"But a move to Australia foundered on the twin issues of visa regulations and a recent change in the club's managership, with the new boss wanting a striker rather than a midfield player."
Meanwhile, the same newspaper reports that Jermaine Johnson should be available for the Owls' weekend trip to QPR. Thompson writes:
"Johnson is believed to have come through his substitute stint for Jamaica unscathed and is due to rejoin Wednesday training tomorrow.
"The Owls refused permission for Johnson to be involved in a second Kingston friendly tomorrow, against Guatemala, to safeguard his fitness for Saturday's match at QPR."
