The Owls fought a tough battle at Wolves' Molyneux stadium nearly trailing two goals in the first three minutes as Andy Keogh stamped his authority on the game striking Grant's crossbar twice in quick succession. However his patience did pay off and he finally found the space to open the scoring for the home side in the eleventh minute. Owls' Marcus Tudgay brought a glimmer of hope when moments later he struck a low shot through keeper Wayne Hennessey's legs but an extra time blow came when new signing Sylvan Ebanks-Blake netted the winner from a controversial corner.
